Free Showing of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”

Calling all muggles! Harry Potter is coming to Central Penn College! Get ready for a free showing of “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” on Friday, July 26, 6:30 p.m., at the Capital BlueCross Theatre.

In the 2007 film, Harry, Ron and Hermione battle to save Hogwarts, which has fallen under the control of Voldemort’s minions Cornelius Fudge and Professor Dolores Umbridge. “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix”––the fifth in the series––grossed more than $940 million at the box office.
Central Penn College is screening the movie as part of its quarterly Humanities Film Series. The movie stars Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint, Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter, Gary Oldman, Maggie Smith and Emma Thompson.

Professor Marcie Rovan will speak on the movie’s theme of grassroots activism at 6:30 p.m., prior to the start of the film. There will be a brief discussion after the movie as well.

The event is free and open to the public.
